Publish or Perish. Between Cultural Studies and Literary Criticism

I am addressing my Romanian students here. And my message is precisely this: you need to master the terms and the tools of your trade. Any approach that leads to your own opinions is entitled. Just make sure that, in the process, you do not discover somebody else. Because in literary criticism, as in all other creative activi-ties that have ever existed, you are very much on your own.
